spoke to the Dr....

Dr. Kachman called the family back to speak with us. he informed us that the CT from this morning shows that the trauma to the left frontal lobe has more damage to it because of the bruising -- extending back into the brain. we do not really even know what effect this may have, and he also said that it is expected. right now, there is no additional surgury planned for his brain, but they are very closely monitoring the swelling of his brain. The goal is to keep the swelling below a "20-25" and it is currently is at a "1-5". It has been at "1-5" since the begining, but they expect it to go up.

Hey guys...I know that I am not there in body, but i am in spirit. I love all of you, and I am praying for strength for our entire family.

Two verses that I came across tonight in just trying to deal with this were:

James 1:2-8
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God.

love u guys, and see u tomorrow sometime-
april

Dear Maley Family, Sharon and I are out of town for two weeks but have been informed of Jim's condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. After reading your dialog on his condition I wanted to let you know that prior to this accident x-rays of Jims neck demonstrated instability as the C2 level that could technically be reported as a dislocation and possibley look like a fracture. Of course not seening the post trauma films I can not comment on how these compare. My point in bringing this up to you is that his neck condition although not good may not be as bad as it appears at this time. Again, I say this to extend some hope to you with out looking at all the facts. Obviously his neck is not the most conserning condition at this time. Hopefully, he will recover from his current head trauma and you will find his neck is not as severe as it appears now. I will be home in a week and will assist you in any way you would like me to. Until then please know our prayers are with you all. Terry Weimer

I am a cousin of Jim's on his mother's side. Another cousin, Sally Rang, informed me of Jim's accident. May God be with the doctors and surgeons as they treat Jim. May God be with Jim and with you, his family at this trying time. Jim and you all will be in my prayers.

Sue and family,
Phyl and I are in Florida right now and we heard about Jim's accident. Needless to say, we are really praying for Jim and all of you right now. Thanks for the blog site; it helps us keep up to date on this stressful situation and allows us to pray specifically.

Tell Jim that Kristin and Jeff, Wally and Marilyn Durham are praying for him. Events like this can make a strong family even stronger. Jim is a fine person and I our thoughts will be on him as he goes thru this. We prayed for him and the family last nite at Bob Dick's prayer group. I pray that in the future you can look back and some blessings will have come thru your sufferings.
